there is something about this story that I find morbidly fascinating. The idea of some huge (huge for England) predator chomping down on one of nature most unpleasant birds. The fact that it may be the same creature from 6 years ago just adds to its mystery. I would love to try and track it down my guess is some kind of turtle, maybe the infamous snapping turtle. Growing big it has developed a taste for geese fat.
whilst this story is fun, if it does turn out to be an escaped or worse released pet then it does highlight the importance of good animal care. Only purchasing animals people can keep for the animals entire life including the cranky adult version of the cute baby that people fall in love with and buy. A few nipped fingers can make the once cute pet into a menace.
